U.S. Senate negotiators propose "duty of care" for AI labs

China outbuilds US 230 to 1 in shipbuilding
China outbuilds the U.S. in shipbuilding at a ratio of 230 to 1. The U.S. Navy currently maintains approximately 290 ships. This number falls short of the 355-ship minimum established by Congress in 2018, and also the Navy’s own estimate of 381 manned ships.

Kalanick explains the New York taxi medallion system
Travis Kalanick described the New York taxi medallion system, noting that roughly 13,000 free licences were frozen, then resold and leased.
