We have a new opportunity for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join a Cyber Security scale-up. You will be joining the Core Software Development team working on the main platform of which all their products run off. We are looking for a product minded C++ software engineer, who likes to have visibility and technical authority on how things are built. As part of the role, you will have the chance to lead on critical software development projects and mentor other engineers. This will include conducting code reviews, embedding quality and promoting best practices.

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • You should have a number of years’ experience in the development of highly scalable, complex real-time solutions using C++ 
  • You will enjoy keeping up to date with the latest developments in C++, and be comfortable working on legacy code bases
  • You should have proven experience of contributing to the architecture, design, maintenance, scalability and performance of complex software
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior developers as well as providing code reviews and promoting best practices is highly desirable
  • You will ideally have a strong educational background, including good a-levels and a minimum of a 2.1 degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics or relevant discipline – A number of their engineers are educated to MSc / PhD level

The role is remote first, but we do need the successful candidate to be based within the UK and have full right to work. They tend to hold planning sessions in the London office once a month. Travel costs will be provided. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role, and you must have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum of 5 years to be eligible for security clearance.
