Senior Backend Engineer – Elixir – Remote (UK or Europe) – £80,000 to £100,000 – Ref: JB66
We have a new opportunity for Senior Backend Engineer to join an award-winning SaaS scale up. The successful candidate will be joining the product team who make up 50% of the business. Working within one of the 4 x Agile Scrum Squads, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining the Finance product which is used by their customers to take payments.
Their ecosystem is composed by a number of API’s mainly built using Ruby / Elixir on the backend, and a mix of Angular, React and TypeScript on the frontend. Although prior experience with Ruby is not essential, anyone with the ability to jump into a ruby codebase to resolve issues and understand it to port code over would be looked upon favourably.
Skills, knowledge and Experience required:
- You must have previous experience working as a Senior Backend Engineer, ideally within fast paced product focused scaling environments
- You will have a demonstrable background in Elixir with a good few years under your belt
- Comfortable developing, deploying, and maintaining SaaS / B2B applications for enterprise customers, ideally with a good knowledge of API design, development, and integration
- Familiarity with database technologies, such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL
- Bonus points will be given to anyone with experience of Ruby on Rails, GraphQL or AWS
They are big fans of Automation testing. The ideal candidate will be passionate about writing well designed and tested code with a strong preference for TDD and Pair programming.
If successful, you will be joining a lively, collaborative, bright and diverse team where you will be given the opportunity to have a real impact on application architecture, as well as contributing to the global scaling of an established scale-up.
This is a permanent role, not a B2B contract. You can be based anywhere within the UK or Europe, but you must be a tax resident with full right to work in that location.
