Experience:

Frontend Engineer – Angular, Tech for Good, Start-Up – London / Hybrid (Remote first with quarterly planning sessions) – £40,000 to £55,000 + Equity – Ref: JB52

We have a new opportunity for a Frontend focused Engineer to join a tech for good start-up. They have created an innovative software solution to assist enterprise organisations in measuring and reducing their carbon emissions and work towards a net-zero future. This tool is unique and allows an organisation to stay on track throughout the process of decarbonisation, ensure compliance while managing the journey throughout.

The successful candidate will be the 2nd in house engineering hire, working alongside the founders, Head of Engineering and Product Manager, to turn their vision into reality. This will include working with a small team of Climate / Carbon specialists to bring to market new platforms and features, as well as maintaining and enhancing the existing solutions. The tech stack here consists of Angular on the client side and Node.js/TypeScript on the server side.

We are interested in speaking to Frontend focused Engineers with some exposure to backend. As the 2nd internal engineer, you will have a real say on how new features are built and implemented, as well as defining best practices within. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has ambitions to take on more responsibility as they grow.

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • You must have a real interest in the tech for good / carbon neutral space
  • You will have at least a couple of years prior experience in a similar role
  • You will have strong frontend skills in JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML CSS/SASS
  • You will have prior experience of developing with one of the main frontend frameworks, (ideally Angular, but people who have worked with Vue.js or React will also be considered)
  • Some experience or working on backend features using TypeScript / Node.js is desirable

Nice to have non-essential requirements:

  • Prior experience working in small / early-stage environments where you have helped build new features from the ground up with a focus stability, scalability and security
  • Any experience of using AI to improve UX (user experience) would be a real plus. This could have been gained commercially, during your studies or as part of a pet project

This is a remote first role with quarterly meet ups in London for planning sessions. Engineers who want to come into the office more, are welcome, but there is no expectation. You must have full right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
