DevOps Engineer, AWS, Product Focused SaaS Scale-up – Remote (UK Hours) – Equivalent to £60,000 to £70,000 – Ref: JB129

We are currently on the hunt for a DevOps Engineer to join a growing B2B SaaS scale-up. The main purpose of this role is to design and manage their scalable, secure cloud environment on AWS, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to ensure consistent, auditable, and efficient infrastructure provisioning. You will Implement CI/CD automation to support rapid iteration while embedding best in class DevOps practices into our development lifecycle.

You will work hand in hand with the software engineering teams, to drive productivity, reliability, and performance at scale. As a key member of the platform team, you will help lead the AI integration, bringing automation and intelligence into their infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and observability systems, helping to set the standard for how they build and operate services.

The ideal candidates will bring practical experience and lessons learned on how to avoid costly surprises (like accidental £100K cloud bills), by designing cost aware systems, setting up robust monitoring, and enforcing guardrails to ensure financial and operational efficiency

Skills, knowledge and Experience required

  • Cloud Expertise – Deep expertise in core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, EKS, Lambda, and CloudFormation, with a strong understanding of designing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud architectures.
  • Infrastructure as Code – Production grade experience with Terraform, managing infrastructure at scale through reusable, modular, and version controlled IaC practices.
  • CI/CD & Deployment Automation – Solid knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tooling, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins, with hands on experience implementing zero downtime deployment strategies and release automation.
  • Containerisation & Orchestration – Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes, with practical experience deploying and managing containerised applications in production environments.
  • AI & Automation Enthusiast – Strong curiosity and excitement about the intersection of AI and DevOps, with a forward-looking mindset on integrating automation and intelligence across infrastructure and operational workflows.

If successful, you will be joining a lively, collaborative, bright and diverse team where you will be given the opportunity to have a real impact, as well as contributing to the global scaling of an established start-up.

This is a fully remote permanent role (not a B2B contract), working UK Hours 09:00 to 18:00 with 1 hour for lunch.
